War Diaries - Diaries from Different War Realities
bosco Bürger- und Kulturhaus, Gauting, Germany

German actress and director Nadia Migdal and Israeli actor and theatre maker Uri Fahndrich lived with their four-month-old daughter Alma in Tel Aviv when Hamas attacked Israel. The small family was at home that Saturday morning - and within an hour they were torn apart for a long time.
Uri was called up as a reservist, while Nadia and the baby took shelter with friends who had a safe room. Without yet knowing what traumatic times lay ahead, both decided to keep a diary. Three weeks later, Uri entered Gaza as commander of a company of 80 soldiers - the couple separated by radio silence.
Based on these war diaries, Nadia and Uri developed a documentary theatre performance that looks at the realities of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict from different perspectives. What happens to a society under such conditions? What does it concretely mean when destruction and hatred, fear and anger invade everyday life?
