Members of the MDR Symphony Orchestra

The Swedish chamber choir Gustaf Sjökvists Kammarkör presents a programme of Swedish choral music from the late 20th century to the present day. The sonic framework is formed by two arrangements of the folk song "Kristallen den fina" - by Gunnar Eriksson and Arne Lundmark - between which sacred and secular a cappella works resound.

The second part features "The Sanctuary Mass" by American-Swedish composer Matthew Peterson, performed with members of the MDR Symphony Orchestra.

Programme:
Gunnar Eriksson (1936): Kristallen den fina; Anna-Karin Klockar (1960): Limu limu lima; Agneta Sköld (1947): Där blåklinten slog en bro; Anna Cederberg-Orreteg (1958): Minnena ser mig; Fredrik Sixten (1962): Oh, Do Not Fear the Darkness; Staffan Storm (1964): Am Rheine; Arne Lundmark (1955): Kristallen den fina; Matthew Peterson (1984): The Sanctuary Mass

The concert will be recorded by Deutschlandfunk Kultur. Supported by the Dieter Fuchs Foundation.
