Eine mögliche Welt - Über das Fremde in uns

"Nearly 10 years ago I received someone else's heart. It was transplanted into me. My own heart had become unusable. To go on living, I had to accept the heart of another. My heart thus became something foreign. It became foreign above all because it was on the inside."

Drawing on the heart transplant of French philosopher Jean-Luc Nancy, this production asks what it means to carry the foreign within us: what becomes alien to us, where do we feel the gap between the self and the other - the intruder, the one that challenges us? Why does it matter that the foreign remains, in some sense, foreign? And could this confrontation be a condition for healing a damaged world?

For Nancy, body and soul form a unity, as do thinking and touching. He sees dance as the "birth of the body" and thinking as the "birth of the world". Working with his texts therefore leads to a physical and vocal exploration: movement and language are placed side by side, each moving the other, probing the words.
