Once a year, the Leipzig ensemble "amici musicae" opens its ranks for an "open autumn project" - for over 10 years now. The focus is on choral-symphonic works that are intensively rehearsed and performed over two project weekends (rehearsal weekend and concert weekend).

The format is designed for former singers of the ensemble who cannot rehearse regularly due to professional or personal reasons, as well as for interested choral singers and instrumentalists who wish to study and perform a choral-symphonic work at a high artistic level. In previous years, alongside well-known oratorios such as Mendelssohn Bartholdy's "Paulus" or Brahms' "Ein deutsches Requiem", rarer works have also been heard, such as Elgar's "The Dream of Gerontius", Vaughan Williams' "A Sea Symphony", Britten's "War Requiem", Hindemith's "Requiem, denen die wir lieben" or Schoenberg's "Ein Überlebender von Warschau". The 2017 performance of Verdi's Requiem with nearly 200 participants was released on CD by the Rondeau label.

Those who wish to participate actively can register by 31 July 2026 at: anmeldung.herbstprojekt.de

Supporter tickets (Gold, Silver or Bronze) are also available for anyone who wishes to spontaneously support the ensemble and the association.
