Duo Smirnova-Kowollik

"Dialogue of the Soul" featuring works by Clara Schumann, Arvo Pärt, J. Brahms and others

Julia Smirnova (violin) studied at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin, first under Antje Weithaas, later under Stephan Picard. Since September 2025, she has been a member of the Munich Philharmonic and combines her orchestral work with an active solo and chamber music career. Sonja Kowollik (piano) became a student at age nine in Münster and subsequently studied under Claudio Martínez Mehner and Nina Tichman in Cologne, Matti Raekallio in Helsinki, and Eldar Nebolsin at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin. Both musicians are multiple award winners.
