Geoffrey Bawa: Architecture for the Senses — Vitra Design Museum, Weil am Rhein

A retrospective dedicated to one of Asia's most influential 20th-century architects. Geoffrey Bawa (1919-2003) realized over 200 projects across five decades, blending modernist principles with regional and traditional elements. His works - hotels, private residences, schools, universities, factories, and Sri Lanka's parliament building - shaped postcolonial architecture and today serve as a model for sustainable building worldwide.

Organized by the Vitra Design Museum in collaboration with M+ Hong Kong and the Geoffrey Bawa Trust, the exhibition explores the central themes of his practice: interdisciplinary collaboration, ecological and social engagement, and the distinctive formal language that defines his architecture. Drawings, models, furniture, photographs, and films present Bawa's work in its full sensory richness.
