The programme features three presentations: Dominic Eickhoff (LWL-Archivamt) covers text recognition, image segmentation and data post-processing. Sarah Rudolf (LVR-AFZ) addresses OCR4all along with cost, data protection and IT security considerations for open-source AI. Tim Westphal (Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities / innovarchiveminds) presents the capture of collection index cards using Vision Language Models (VLMs) and the possibilities of AI-assisted archival finding aids with Large Language Models (LLMs).
