Hell on Earth - Badische Landesbühne - Introduction 19:00

An apocalyptic comedy by Maria Lazar

The world teeters on the brink of another global war, the League of Nations hopelessly divided. A newspaper advertisement reads: "Help us, God!" - and God sends Peter with two angels to Geneva. But even divine emissaries cannot get far without authority and a valid passport. A colorful game of misunderstandings begins.

More precisely: it is the 760,839,000th anniversary of the creation of the world, and God is thoroughly fed up with humanity. When the League of Nations advertises for a new kind God, He reluctantly sends Peter - with predictable results.

Vienna-born writer Maria Lazar (1895-1948) wrote the play in the 1930s. After long obscurity, it was rediscovered in 2022 and premiered in September 2024.

Age recommendation: 14 and up. Introduction at 19:00.
