About: Freddie Mercury

Born in Zanzibar and raised partly in India before settling in England, Freddie Mercury built Queen into one of rock's biggest acts - his operatic voice, piano playing and flair for the dramatic setting the band apart from everyone else. His 1985 Live Aid set at Wembley is still widely cited as the greatest live rock performance ever recorded.
