Cavalleria rusticana & Pagliacci - Staatsoper Hamburg

Hamburgische Staatsoper presents on Sunday, 7 March 2027 at 5 p.m. two masterpieces of Italian verismo: "Cavalleria rusticana" by Pietro Mascagni and "Pagliacci" by Ruggero Leoncavallo. Both one-act operas, often performed together, share intense drama, passion, and tragic character fates. Hamburg is one of two German cities hosting this tour. Hamburgische Staatsoper, the oldest continuously operating opera house in German-speaking countries with roots reaching back to 1678 and its current building opened in 1955, provides a fitting stage for these classical works of Italian repertoire.
