About: Karat

Formed in East Berlin in 1975, Karat built their reputation on keyboard-driven rock with philosophical lyrics - their anthem "Über sieben Brücken musst du geh'n" became one of the most covered songs in German music history. Fronted today by Claudius Dreilich, the band celebrated 50 years in 2025 with a sold-out Elbphilharmonie concert and a new studio album.
