About: Torfrock

Since 1977, Torfrock have been turning Low German dialect and northern wit into rock songs - from Viking sagas set in Hedeby to the everyday chaos of Torfmoorholm. Their chart-topping "Beinhart" from the Werner film made them a household name across Germany, and they are still touring hard as they warm up for their 50th anniversary in 2027.

It serves as the home of the Philharmonisches Orchester der Hansestadt Lübeck and hosts concerts, congresses, and major cultural events. The building's striking architecture, designed by Meinhard von Gerkan, features a distinctive glass façade and a large concert hall with excellent acoustics.
