About: Swan Lake

Tchaikovsky composed Swan Lake as his very first ballet score - and despite a disastrous premiere in 1877, the Petipa-Ivanov revival of 1895 turned it into the cornerstone of the classical repertoire. The double role of Odette and Odile, the iconic Dance of the Cygnets, and Odile's 32 fouettés remain the ultimate test of a ballerina's art.
