Herr Schröder - The Rest Is Homework

Herr Schröder - Germany's most senior junior teacher and a walking overhead projector - presents his new double-period show "Der Rest ist Hausaufgabe" (The Rest Is Homework). He lights the way to a better future tense and gives us the teaching power we all need, because school today is a group puzzle with a thousand pieces and solving it is like squaring the circle.

Johannes Schröder, performing as Herr Schröder, trained as a German-language teacher and works as a comedian and cabaret artist. After twelve years in the classroom, he left Offenburg for Toronto in 2014, where he honed his punchlines in numerous comedy clubs. Back in Berlin, he wrote his first solo show; "World of Lehrkraft - Ein Trauma geht in Erfüllung" took him on tour through Germany, Austria and Switzerland. His second programme, "Instagrammatik", now fills arenas and regularly sells out.

Herr Schröder has won awards including the "Stuttgarter Besen" and the "Prix Pantheon", and appears regularly on German TV - on "Die besten Comedians Deutschlands" (SAT.1), "Nuhr im Ersten" (ARD), "Nightwash" (RTLII), "Till Reiners' Happy Hour" (3SAT), "Mitternachtsspitzen" (WDR) and the "NDR Talk Show" (NDR). The solo show "Instagrammatik" was recorded for television by WDR. His first book, "World of Lehrkraft - Ein Pädagoge packt aus" (Ullstein Verlag, 2019), became a Spiegel bestseller; "Instagrammatik - Das streamende Klassenzimmer" followed in 2021.
