Warten auf'n Bus - by Oliver Bukowski
A warm and funny reflection on waiting and the absurdities of everyday life. An evening for the heart and for the funny bone. And a declaration of love for life and friendship!
A bus stop in the middle of nowhere - "the damned junction between civilisation and the absolute back of beyond". This is where Ralle and Hannes meet every day, two old mates who have seen better times. They wonder where they went wrong in life and grumble about the society that brought them here. They dream, argue, laugh, drink canned beer and wait. For a brighter future, among other things. And for Kathrin, the lovely bus driver who always gives them a smile - even though she's "out of their league".
Ralle and Hannes are loveable full-time philosophers with a sharp tongue and a good heart. Two people who rarely get a word in edgeways. And who refuse to be rattled by anything - not by rowdy teenagers, not by dim-witted dogs.
"Warten auf'n Bus" by acclaimed author Oliver Bukowski began as a comedy series for rbb, becoming an instant hit when it launched in 2020. It follows in the tradition of cult series like "Tatortreiniger" and "Dittsche", and was nominated for the Deutscher Fernsehpreis and the Grimme-Preis. Like the TV series, the stage adaptation draws its strength from its wonderful characters and endlessly funny, timeless dialogue.
