Over many decades, Axel Hacke has written several thousand columns, primarily for "Süddeutsche Zeitung Magazin", as well as more than thirty books. Now he shares how he created this body of work. He reads selections from his writings to the audience. Since he cannot read everything (certainly not in a single evening), he chooses only the best - the funniest, most thought-provoking, wisest, and most cheerful pieces. One might say that as an author, he has spent his entire life preparing for this evening - for the very best evening.
Axel Hacke lives as a writer in Munich. He is renowned for his column "Das Beste aus aller Welt" ("The Best from Around the World"), which he has published every Friday in "Süddeutscher Zeitung" magazine for decades. His books are bestsellers. His work has been recognized with numerous awards, including the Joseph Roth Prize, two Egon Erwin Kisch Prizes, the Theodor Wolff Prize, and most recently the Ben Witter Prize in 2019.
