Breaking Free from the Hamster Wheel - and onto a Surfboard - An Impulse Reading for Greater Inner Peace and Ease in Women's Working Life — Stadtkulturhaus Borna, Borna

Christine Sing lives the dream many share: After a steep career at Volkswagen, she traded her office job for a surfboard in 2018 and has since lived between Tenerife and Esslingen. And she has turned her vision for a more worthwhile (working) world into her profession: as an independent consultant, she advocates for more women in leadership and new forms of work.

In her interactive reading, she takes people on a journey through her exit, reorientation, and her very different work and life today. Openly and authentically, she shares her experiences and challenges of this liberating transformation, offers insights into her feelings, and shares her most important insights.

Christine Sing wants to inspire and encourage others - to occasionally step out of their own hamster wheel, follow their own dreams, and continually discover new horizons.

Christine Sing holds a degree in cultural studies and works as an author, coach, and consultant advocating for a more worthwhile working world.

She experienced firsthand how unjust and unhealthy the current work system is during her career at Volkswagen. After postings in China, the Czech Republic, and Wolfsburg, where she last served as press spokesperson, she decided in 2018 to trade her office job for a surfboard. She has made her vision for a more worthwhile working world her profession: as an independent surf consultant, she has since advocated for more women in leadership, new masculinity, and healthier forms of work.

To this end, she accompanies people through coaching and creates workshops for companies on gender bias and New Work.

Christine Sing works and lives freely today - between Stuttgart, Tenerife, Nicaragua, and the world's surfing beaches, and spends half the year at events in Germany.
