An evening of joy, musical pleasure and Alpine folk tradition - "Die Oberkrainer kommen!" is a musical tribute to the inventor of Oberkrainer music: Slavko Avsenik.

The ensemble Die Oberkrainer aus Begunje was founded in 2007 and is led by Nici Legat, a musician with genuine Oberkrainer roots. He has shared the stage with Slavko Avsenik himself and was a member of the legendary Original Jungen Oberkrainer. Drawing on deep experience, passion and a strong bond with tradition, he brings the music of his great mentor back to the stage.

The classic Oberkrainer quintet with vocal duo performs the greatest hits from Slavko Avsenik's repertoire - including "Trompetenecho", "Auf der Autobahn" and "Es ist so schön, ein Musikant zu sein". The programme is rounded out by original compositions that fit seamlessly into the style and carry the distinctive sound of this musical tradition forward.
