Arktos, a terrible snowman, seeks to cover the entire world in ice. The old dragon Tyrion prepares his young son Tabaluga for his destined mission - to protect the world. To do this, Tabaluga must find the True Fire, the only thing that can stop Arktos's schemes.

Tabaluga sets out on his journey with the help of a magician. Along the way, he faces many dangers, including the spider woman Tarantula, and discovers beautiful things. He learns that the world is worth saving, even though it contains both good and evil. But Arktos does not want Tabaluga to fulfill his destiny. So he creates a beautiful being from pure ice - the girl Lilli, whose only task is to distract Tabaluga from his search for the True Fire. Tabaluga, as Arktos planned, falls in love with Lilli. But through this love, he discovers the greatest and most beautiful power - the power of love.
