Dr. Mark Benecke - Criminal Cases at the Edge of the Possible — Sparkassen-Arena Jena, Jena

Dr. Mark Benecke is chairman of the German Dracula Society, a member of the committee for the Nobel Prize for curious scientific research, an author, politician, Donaldist - and the world's most famous criminal biologist. His specialty is forensic entomology, the study of insects in a legal context.

Benecke is called in when murder cases seem nearly hopeless. Every crime scene holds evidence invisible to the naked eye - but maggots and flies provide answers where others have run out of leads. Even the tiniest creatures found on a body can deliver the decisive clue.

His job is not death itself, but what comes after. There is no such thing as a perfect murder - because insects never sleep.
