For his new show, Ahne has stepped into the shoes of a jazz singer who no longer knows whether what he's doing counts as jazz at all. Not a single instrument is used, the texts are read from the page, and when he sings, it sounds more like a cross between a children's song and punk. But the improvisation and the ambition? In the broadest sense, it might still be jazz.
