Uwe Steimle and Helmut Schleich - MIR san MIR ... and Us Too
Parkbühne Fürstenwalde, Germany
46 €
Helmut Schleich and Uwe Steimle are cabaret giants who previously created a phenomenal duo in "SchleichFernsehen", embodying Franz Josef Strauß and Erich Honecker. Under the programmatic title "MIR san MIR ... and us too!", both cabaret artists promise an exceptional cabaret experience at the intersection of cultures.
During their Bavarian-Saxon friendship evening, both performers travel along linguistic boundaries, wade through stereotypes, and discover both surprising similarities and remarkable differences between the stubborn inhabitants of both free states. They immerse themselves in the depths of the German psyche, uncovering the secrets of dialectal dialectics. They discover that people are people... This exploratory journey through homeland raises both complex and unsettling questions: What does homeland actually mean? What role do Catholicism and Protestantism play? Why does the Saxon see the world differently? Is the Bavarian phrase "ja, mei..." truly a formula for everything?
Helmut Schleich is one of the most distinctive figures in the German-language cabaret landscape. He is particularly renowned as a brilliant political cabaret artist and host of his own show "SchleichFernsehen". Whether on stage, on radio, or on television - Helmut Schleich takes on cherished prejudices, dangerous half-truths, and comfortable ignorance. His solo programmes have been awarded, among others, the German Small Arts Prize and the Bavarian Cabaret Prize.
Uwe Steimle is known as a cabaret artist, bestselling author, and actor - from 1993 to 2009 he played the role of Chief Inspector Jens Hinrichs in the television series "Polizeiruf 110".
