"Doors closed and 3 hours of pure fun with family or friends" - that's how Erwin Machulke, the caretaker of RUHRICAL, welcomed the audience. And he kept his promise: RUHRICAL brings together pop, rock, musical and Schlager in one rousing show, telling the stories of the Ruhr region in all its variety - authentic, passionate and full of humour. For nearly three hours, the audience was swept up in the emotions, creativity and warmth of the Revier - a direct line to the heart of the Ruhr.

RUHRICAL shows that the best things are often right in front of us: the biggest hits from the Ruhr are often world-famous classics, and in this spectacular staging they become the musical highlight of the evening. From a freshly arranged "Glück auf, der Steiger kommt" to a rousing "Helge Schneider Medley" - performed by vocal powerhouse Marc Stahlberg - every moment is made for singing along. Stunning dance choreography and the anthemic "Glück auf, der Steiger kommt" in a staging that bridges the region's tradition and its modern energy: realistic animations take the audience 1,000 metres underground to experience the magic of the Ruhr up close. Whether it's Cranger Kirmes, a stadium visit or an afternoon with friends in the allotment garden - the Ruhrpott came alive at Mondpalast.
