Failing Beautifully with Ringelnatz - A Journey Through the Life of Joachim Ringelnatz

Heike Feist and Andreas Nickl take the audience on a journey through the life of Joachim Ringelnatz - a small man with a vast imagination who mastered the art of falling down and getting back up like few others. His works were banned during the Nazi era and branded as "degenerate", his opportunities to perform severely curtailed.

The evening weaves together music and paper props, tracing the key chapters of the poet's life and his relationship with his wife Musch - while also bringing lesser-known details to light. The story of Hans Bötticher, who later took the name Joachim Ringelnatz, is told with such energy and warmth that audiences often can't decide whether to laugh or cry.
