Nora Thiele

Nora Thiele is a pioneer of the frame drum and a multi-instrumentalist who brings together genres, eras and cultures in transdisciplinary projects. With over 1,000 concerts across Europe, the Middle East and China, and her own compositions of contemporary works, she weaves rhythm and improvisation on an international stage.

Her programme Electro meets Classic places electronic sounds alongside acoustic instruments - piano and frame drum - moving between neo-classical, minimal music and ambient sounds. Attentive listeners may catch echoes of Keith Jarrett and Steve Reich.

The music ranges from meditative to rhythmically powerful, distinguished by virtuosity, sensitivity and intensity.
