The Sorcerer's Apprentice

MDR-Sinfonieorchester, conducted by Paolo Bortolameolli, performs at Gewandhaus zu Leipzig on Sunday, 27 September 2026 at 11:00. The programme draws together works steeped in darkness and fantasy: Gounod's overture, Mussorgsky's "Night on Bald Mountain," Dukas's celebrated "The Sorcerer's Apprentice," and Berlioz's "Symphonie fantastique." This is one of nine concerts the orchestra gives across Germany this season. Gewandhaus ranks among the world's most prestigious concert halls and serves as home to Gewandhausorchester, one of the oldest civic orchestras. Admission is 23 €.
