MDR-Rundfunkchor performs Schumann's oratorio "Das Paradies und die Peri" on Sunday, 13 September 2026 at 18:00 in the Gewandhaus zu Leipzig. Based on Thomas Moore's romantic epic, the work tells of a fallen angel seeking the path to paradise. The MDR-Sinfonieorchester, conducted by Dennis Russell Davies, accompanies soloists Lenneke Ruiten, Hanna Herfurtner, Ulrike Schneider, Manuel Günther, and Tobias Berndt. The Gewandhaus zu Leipzig ranks among the world's most prestigious concert halls and serves as home to the Gewandhausorchester. This concert is one of two German dates for the ensemble. Tickets cost 23 €.
