Manfred Mann's Earth Band has been making music history for over five decades and still commands a massive following around the globe.

The band's roots go back to the early 1960s. In 1962, a 22-year-old Manfred Mann formed his first group and simply named it after himself. Pop chart success followed quickly. By the late 1960s, though, that wasn't enough for the ambitious musician. After a few years away, he launched the Earth Band - and went on to even greater heights. The distinctive blend of rock and jazz elements won over fans worldwide.

Manfred Mann made other artists' hits his own, stamping them with his unmistakable musical identity. The Earth Band versions of Bob Dylan's "Blinded By The Light" and "Mighty Quinn", among many others, have long since become classics in their own right.
