For half a century, Ignaz Netzer has been a welcome guest at major festivals and intimate clubs alike. The winner of the German Blues Award comes to Prenzlau with his new solo album "When the Music is over", featuring exclusively his own compositions and nominated for the German Record Critics' Prize.
Ignaz Netzer is regarded as one of the most authentic representatives of gospel and blues. The "Heilbronner Stimme" wrote that it is only a matter of time before Mississippi steamboats are spotted on the Neckar because of him. The Swiss "Saaner Anzeiger" declared: "The whitest Black man in all of Germany." The international press showers him with superlatives: JAZZ Podium magazine called him the "Grand Master of Classical Blues", while "Süddeutsche" dubbed him the "Blues Magician".
He founded his first band at the tender age of 13. Since then, he has performed countless concerts across many European countries, including collaborations with blues legends such as Alexis Korner, Champion Jack Dupree, and Louisiana Red, as well as with Barbara Dennerlein and Gerhard Polt. He has released 17 recordings and one DVD.
