With "Quasi Cool" - a title borrowed from a tempo marking in Alec Templeton's Pocket Size Sonata No. 2 - Sebastian Manz presents a programme that moves between jazz, rock, and contemporary classical music. The soloist, chamber musician, and principal clarinetist of the SWR Symphony Orchestra blends familiar sounds of classical music in his own arrangements with works by Duke Ellington, Elvis Presley, and AC/DC.
For this anniversary finale, the programme is performed by a large ensemble of eleven musicians - with enthusiasm, humour, and self-irony, yet without denying their own musical roots.
