Violinist Franziska Hölscher is one of the most versatile musicians of her generation. A sought-after soloist and chamber musician, she also serves as artistic director of the "Klangbrücken" series at Konzerthaus Berlin, the "Fränkischer Sommer" music festival, and the Musiktage Feldafing. In 1999, at just 17, she made her mark by winning first prize at the International Radio Competition in Prague. Two years later she made her debut alongside the legendary Martha Argerich. Today she appears regularly at the most prestigious music festivals in Germany and abroad.
Playing alongside colleagues has always been central to this versatile violinist's work. Joining her are seven artists who each rank among the international elite on their instrument: clarinettist Sebastian Manz, bassoonist Theo Plath, Felix Klieser on horn, violinist Stephen Waarts, Wen Xiao Zheng on viola, cellist Andrei Ioniță, and double bassist Dominik Wagner. As an octet, they show that their individual virtuosity translates seamlessly into a unified ensemble sound.
