Calendar, Your Days Are Numbered

Marco Tschirpke is a man far removed from sentimental feelings. He adorns his humorous creations with everything in a poet's toolkit. He examines his themes through the lens of social progress. The measure of his thinking is not the lowest common denominator, but-with all modesty-the world spirit. While politics may claim the realm of the possible, art must aim at the realm of the thinkable. Indignation, Tschirpke believes, is merely the fatter sister of anger. In his new compositions, one can hear that the author not only commands a broad range of stylistic possibilities but possesses his own tonal language.

Experiments on piano and ukulele round out his charming attacks on the state and its citizens. Following the motto "Whoever leans far out the window sees more," Tschirpke heads toward the comic abysses of our existence.
