Fleeing his talkative table neighbour, the endlessly chattering Swabian Baroness, the detective barely misses the alleged murder of the host's husband, Baron von Zuckerberg.

True, his health was not at its best. But to suddenly topple into maultasch soup is not the refined English way to die, even in Swabia. For Sherlock Holmes, however, the previously deadly boring evening is saved.

A dialect crime story awaits - an exceedingly tricky case at that, for the investigation results seemingly rule out any poisoning. Questioning the witnesses, the coroner, and some of the dinner guests makes many an innocent soul in the hall appear suspicious.
