On 4 December, fifty years will have passed since Benjamin Britten's death. The programme marks the occasion with his gripping setting of the Arthurian legend and the enchanting music from The Sword in the Stone. Tracing a line from Richard Wagner through to Stravinsky's brilliantly crafted Octet, it also brings in Debussy's forward-looking String Quartet - a century of musical styles compressed into a single evening.

About the venue: MDR Studio
