Film ab im Traumland | Musical City Walk

Rediscover Wittenberg with open eyes and ears to historic sounds: participants in the musical city walk can look forward to it now! At the 21st Wittenberg Renaissance Music Festival, the Praetorius Consort Wittenberg, the Wittenberg Court Chapel, and their guests - this time from the Leipzig Music School - invite you to the original sites of the Reformation and offer extraordinary listening experiences at representative locations in Luther's city.

On Saturday afternoon, approximately half an hour of opening music rings out in the Castle Church, featuring popular compositions from past and present - Renaissance songs and dances subtly yet unmistakably interwoven with musical themes, melodies, and motifs from film scores of modern cinema hits. Children and young people especially will delight not only in performances by their peers but also in recognizing many soundtracks from their favorite films. The Leipzig recorder ensemble "Die vier Pfeifen" contributes atmospheric recorder pieces by Giovanni Paolo Cima, Giovanni Cavaccio, and Paul Leenhouts.

After the opening, interested participants can join the musical city walk in groups - as always accompanied by experienced tour guides. As they stroll through Wittenberg, they can enjoy further musical performances in the Old Town Hall, in the Corpus Christi Chapel next to the City Church, and at Café Klatschmohn, while experiencing the impressive sound of historic instruments.

Since capacity is limited, it is recommended to order tickets in advance. And you should allow some time: a visit to "Dreamland" can last two and a half to three hours!
