Film ab im Traumland | Musical City Walk
Schlosskirche Wittenberg, Lutherstadt Wittenberg, Germany
25 €
As part of the 21st Wittenberg Renaissance Music Festival, Praetorius Consort Wittenberg, the Wittenberg Hofkapelle, and their guests - this time from the Leipzig School of Music - invite visitors to the original sites of the Reformation. The festival opens on Saturday afternoon with approximately half an hour of opening music in the Schlosskirche: Renaissance songs and dances interwoven with musical themes and melodies from contemporary film scores. The Leipzig recorder ensemble "Die vier Pfeifen" contributes recorder pieces by Giovanni Paolo Cima, Giovanni Cavaccio, and Paul Leenhouts. Children and young people can look forward to performances by their peers - and will recognize many soundtracks from their favorite films.
Afterward, groups set out with experienced city guides through Wittenberg: further musical performances and historical instruments await participants in the Old Town Hall, the Corpus Christi Chapel next to the City Church, and Café Klatschmohn, among other locations.
Capacity is limited, so advance ticket booking is recommended. Plan for two and a half to three hours for the entire walk.
