"Musical Landscapes" - Romantic Works with the Marburg Chamber Orchestra — Landgrafenschloss Marburg, Marburg

The Marburg Chamber Orchestra was founded in 1962, growing out of a chamber music circle that had existed since 1958 at the Elisabethkirche in Marburg. Under the direction of its founder Horst Pusch († 2007), the orchestra gave regular concerts in Marburg, soon gained significance beyond the region, and was invited to perform throughout Hesse and beyond. The orchestra's core consists of 15-20 musicians, a mix of professional instrumentalists and dedicated amateurs. The Marburg Chamber Orchestra continues to play a distinctive role in Marburg's musical life. It is regularly represented at the Marburg Castle Concerts as a founding member of the organizing association. From 1996 onwards, the musical direction was shared among various conductors; from 1999 onwards, primarily under Arndt Heyer. From 2015 to 2023, there was a successful collaboration with Karin Hendel. Since 2024, the orchestra has performed under the direction of Martin Spahr and Tom Freischläger.
