The 6th Herborner Oktoberfest is just around the corner

While the rest of Germany has barely buried carnival season, Herborn is already deep into planning its Oktoberfest. Festbetriebe Böckl from the Upper Palatinate is once again running the show for the sixth edition of this popular large-scale event. The festival at the Festplatz runs from 9-11 October and again on 16 and 17 October 2026.

Hosts Gerhard Böckl and Sepp Ebnet, backed by Herborner Stadtmarketing, are sticking to the proven formula: high-energy party atmosphere, guests in dirndls and lederhosen, and Bavarian beer - Benediktiner once more.

The opening night falls on Friday, 10 October, with the traditional barrel tapping and a musical kick-off. Local crowd-warmers Mission:2Party will get things going, followed by Ballermann icon Mickie Krause, who is set to turn the tent into a proper party cauldron.

Saturday, 11 October, brings back the now-regular guest band "Highline" from the Upper Palatinate. Julia Schönberger, Norman Schelter and the crew will warm up the tent at Walkmühlenweg for another headline act: Lorenz Büffel returns to Herborn for the second time since 2023, bringing his hits "Baila" and "Johnny Däpp" along.

The first weekend wraps up with the traditional Sunday morning session on 12 October. From 11:00, Musikverein Herbornseelbach takes the stage - entry is free.

The second weekend opens on Friday, 16 October, with local cover band EVE, joined once again by Ikke Hüftgold, who is looking forward to the short drive from Limburg and remembers last year's show fondly.
