This concert evening brings together European opera and operetta repertoire with works by Korean composer Young Jo Lee (*1943). Beloved arias and duets - including "Brindisi", "Un bel dì vedremo", "Nessun dorma" and "Lippen schweigen" by Verdi, Puccini, Lehár and Kálmán - are set in dialogue with Korean compositions.

Soprano Yoora Lee-Hoff and tenor Simon Kyung Lee perform solos and duets throughout the evening, accompanied at the piano by Seunghwan Ji.

About the venue: Residenzschloss Sondershausen

Residenzschloss Sondershausen is a sprawling palace complex in the centre of Sondershausen, Thuringia, that served as the residence of the Princes of Schwarzburg-Sondershausen for several centuries. The building grew over time from a medieval core into an ensemble of Renaissance and Baroque wings. Today it houses a museum, the regional library, and a concert hall, and regularly hosts classical music events - most notably the Loh-Orchester Sondershausen, one of Germany's oldest orchestras.
