An evening of young voices and great a cappella music spanning five centuries - that is what the Jugendkonzertchor der CHORAKADEMIE am Konzerthaus Dortmund e.V. brings with its new concert programme. Under the direction of Johannes Honecker, who has led the choir since early 2025, singers aged 14 to 19 perform a varied sacred programme ranging from Heinrich Schütz to the present day, mixing established classics with fresh discoveries. The repertoire covers the full breadth of a cappella literature from the last five hundred years.

The Jugendkonzertchor der CHORAKADEMIE Dortmund e.V. is the award-winning flagship ensemble of Europe's largest singing school. The choir took first prize at the Deutschen Chorwettbewerb 2018 and at the Deutschen Chorfests 2025 competition in Nuremberg, and has built a strong reputation well beyond the Ruhr region. Each year the young singers give a cappella concerts throughout North Rhine-Westphalia and beyond. The choir also collaborates regularly with regional orchestras on large choral-symphonic projects - in the 2025/26 season with the Dortmunder Philharmoniker for Mozart's "Coronation Mass" and Bach's "St John Passion", with the Bochumer Symphoniker for Bach's "Christmas Oratorio", and with the Mahler Chamber Orchestra for Gustav Mahler's Symphony No. 3.
