Nichtseattle (solo)

Katharina Kollmann, performing as Nichtseattle, is one of the most distinctive singer-songwriters in the German-speaking world. Her double album "HAUS" (April 2024) cemented her place in the cultural landscape for good. Few artists weave the political and the personal together in their songs as directly as she does.

Kollmann is a singer-songwriter, choir director, and founder of a collective housing project. Her music moves between folk and indie rock, drawing as naturally on the work of East German singer-songwriters like Gerhard Schöne as on the sound of the Pixies.

"(...) But if you can handle the raw, unplastered state of Kollmann's soul construction site, it is the most beautiful, warmest and most open home for miles around," wrote Andreas Borcholte in Der Spiegel about her songs. No small talk, no tinsel - just music that means what it says.
