Bausa - GELDERN Open Air

BAUSA stands as one of Germany's most successful rappers: with "Was du Liebe nennst" he achieved the first diamond hit in German rap. Recently he released "9 nach 9" together with badchieff and SIRA - a single that topped the German charts for six weeks and has now accumulated over 140 million streams with triple-platinum status.

Behind the name BAUSA is Julian Otto from Bietigheim-Bissingen, drawing influences from hip-hop, R&B, soul, funk, and electronic music. His debut album "Dreifarbenhaus" moved between rap and pop, followed by the mixtape "Powerbausa" and the album "Fieber", which pushed far beyond hip-hop's genre boundaries. With "100 Pro" (2021) he returned to uncompromising rap, while "Der Letzte macht das Licht aus" again brought personal themes to the fore with varied instrumentation.

Besides his solo albums - three of which reached the German top ten - he accumulated nine gold and eighteen platinum awards through collaborations with Diplo, RIN, Summer Cem, and Bonez MC. More than 5 million sold records make him one of the country's best-selling artists. Additionally, he works as head of the Two Sides label, where he handles A&R and scouting duties in a joint venture with Sony.
