"Christmas at Sea" Art'n'Voices - a cappella from Bach to Sting — Dorfkirche Cunewalde, Cunewalde

Art'n'Voices from Gdańsk bring Polish Christmas a cappella to the stage, inspired by mystical tales of the sea and the Christ child in the manger.

The vocal ensemble has won prizes at international competitions across Europe, drawing audiences into a richly emotional and distinctive sound world. Since taking first place at the Leipzig a cappella competition in 2023, the group has performed at prestigious festivals and notable concert venues throughout Germany.

The sound of the sea
The programme "Christmas at Sea" weaves traditional carols in fresh arrangements together with newly composed pieces in a singular style. "Leise rieselt der Schnee", "Carol of the Bells", Polish folk melodies and striking avant-garde a cappella works by young Polish composers Marek Raczynski and Anna Roclawska-Musialczyk - the ensemble's director - evoke the mystery of dark winter nights, the roar of the sea, the cry of gulls and the magic of Christmas. The programme also includes works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Arvo Pärt and Sting.

Founded in Gdańsk in 2010, Art'n'Voices has impressed professional juries and audiences worldwide. Upcoming concerts will take the group to Bayreuth, the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, the Kammermusiksaal of Deutschlandfunk in Cologne, and beyond Europe to Australia and the USA.
