Rob Stender - Holland in Not

An evening full of wit, music and Dutch spirit. Welcome to "Holland in Not" - cabaret with Gouda guarantee!
Rob Stender, a charming piano virtuoso and rock and roll export from the land of tulips, cheese and caravans, has a mission: he wants to save the world - or at least rock and roll. In his view, the Americans have ruined this once powerful musical style. It's time to bring it back to Europe - to where, according to Rob, it belongs: Germany.
But "Holland in Not" is more than just a musical rescue plan. Rob takes his audience on a cabaret journey full of anecdotes, self-irony and Dutch pragmatism. Between chunks of Gouda cheese and pointed commentary, he tells of his adventures on the road from sex, drugs and rock and roll to his goal.
With his unmistakable Dutch humour and a sense of timing, Rob also sheds light on cultural clichés: Why are the Dutch considered thrifty? How did they manage to make the bicycle their national shrine? And why are there more cheese varieties in Holland than inhabitants?
Beyond his pointed social criticism, Rob of course brings the music. His rock and roll interpretations like "Du bist nichts anderes als ein Schweinhund" or "Bist du einsam heut' Nacht" provoke goosebumps and laughter in equal measure.
