Çya Bazzaz is a composer and pianist. He was born in Berlin into a Kurdish family that fled political persecution by Saddam's regime to Germany in the 1990s. He received his first piano lessons at the age of 17, and just a few years later passed the entrance examinations for both composition and artistic piano performance at the University of the Arts Berlin (UdK).

He is currently pursuing a master's degree in composition under Prof. Elena Mendoza and a master's degree in artistic piano performance (solo) under Prof. Lucas Blondeel. His compositional work encompasses orchestral, chamber, and vocal music, often enriched by theatrical, electronic, or multimedia elements. His works have been premiered across Europe by orchestras including the MDR-Sinfonieorchester, Frankfurter Oder-Sinfonieorchester, Magdeburgische Philharmonie, Philharmonisches Orchester Halberstadt, Solistenensemble Kaleidoskop, AuditivVokal Dresden, Ensemble Adapter, Trio Immersio, Ensemble Ilinx, and many others.

He has received composition commissions from Ruhrfestspielen Recklinghausen, Brandenburger Symphonikern, Impuls Festival für Neue Musik (support award), the University of Potsdam, and Musikschule Neukölln. He has participated in master classes with Jan Michiels, Ian Jones, Heinz Holliger, Annette Schlünz, Helmut Schmidinger, and Hortense Cartier-Bresson.

He is currently a recipient of the prestigious Böckler hoch K scholarship from the Hans Böckler Foundation, awarded annually to only 15 outstanding students in music, visual arts, performing arts, creative writing, and digital arts.
