A special anniversary highlight: Warendorfer Hengstparaden and Parade bei Nacht 2026

The NRW State Stud presents the Warendorfer Hengstparaden on 19 and 20 September 2026 and the Parade bei Nacht on 26 September 2026 as part of an extensive anniversary programme celebrating 200 years of its existence. All three events captivate audiences in this anniversary year with a particularly fascinating show where living tradition meets modern touches.

The Parade bei Nacht takes place at dusk in atmospheric lighting. The illuminated historic stables and parade ground surrounded by stands create a unique backdrop for the traditional show, where history comes alive.

The programme features approximately 100 magnificent horses and is hosted by Carsten Sostmeier, a presenter well-known from radio and television. The programme includes driving displays with historic carriages, elaborate harnesses and various harnessing techniques, quadrilles in traditional uniforms, as well as fast-paced and even acrobatic highlights. The Rheinisch-Deutsches Kaltblut breed, maintained at the stud, will be seen in versatile use. These likeable heavy horses are audience favourites and create a particularly good atmosphere in the stands with their performances.

Around the parade ground there is a culinary mile. Sales stands line the area with sweet and savoury offerings. There is plenty of time to explore the historic stables, the park-like grounds or to enjoy refreshments at food and sales stands before the parades - on the first two event days the North Rhine-Westphalian State Stud opens its gates from 11 am, and from 4 pm for the Parade bei Nacht.
