Warendorfer Hengstparaden 2026 - Parade bei Nacht

A special anniversary highlight: the Warendorfer Hengstparaden and Parade bei Nacht 2026

To mark its 200th anniversary, the NRW State Stud presents the Warendorfer Hengstparaden on 19 and 20 September 2026, followed by the Parade bei Nacht on 26 September 2026. All three events feature a particularly spectacular show this anniversary year, where living tradition meets a modern touch.

The Parade bei Nacht takes place at dusk, bathed in atmospheric lighting. The illuminated historic stables and the parade ground surrounded by market stalls form a striking backdrop for this tradition-steeped show, bringing history to life before the audience.

The programme - featuring around 100 magnificently turned-out horses - is hosted by Carsten Sostmeier, a well-known face from radio and television. Highlights include driving displays with historic carriages, elaborate harnesses and varied hitch formations, quadrilles in traditional uniforms, and fast-paced acrobatic sequences. The Rheinisch-Deutsches Kaltblut breed, preserved at the stud, will be shown in a wide range of disciplines. These gentle heavyweights are crowd favourites, and their appearances never fail to bring the stands to life.

Around the parade ground, a food and drink lane lines up stalls with sweet and savoury offerings. There is plenty of time before the parade to explore the historic stables and park-like grounds or grab a bite - on the first two event days the NRW State Stud opens its gates from 11:00, and for the Parade bei Nacht from 16:00.
