In his new solo show, the satirical one-man theatre piece "GLEICH", Alfred Dorfer does what he does best - slipping swiftly and elegantly between a wide cast of characters. Grandmothers, innkeepers, bears, carp and sunflowers all take the stage. The story unfolds through a series of narrative and temporal detours, leaving the audience to wonder: can we take what we see at face value? Time layers blur into one another, and poetry mingles with wordplay, philosophy with fantasy.

In the German-speaking world, this satirist with a sharp eye for socio-political issues stands alone in his characteristic style of performance. His training in mime and acting serves him well. With disarming confidence and plenty of self-deprecation, Alfred Dorfer trains his gaze on social trends as a precise observer of everyday life - light on his rhetorical feet, but never missing his mark. He plays with his audience knowingly and with evident pleasure. Nothing and no one is safe from his unexpected leaps of thought.

This acrobat of ideas is legendary for his biting humour and unsparing perspective, and has developed a personal style that many consider unmatched. The juries of the Deutscher Kleinkunstpreis, the German and Bavarian Cabaret Prizes, and the Swiss cabaret prize Cornichon all agreed. He has also worked as an actor, book author, director and long-running late-night talk-show host.
