Concerts in the Monastery: Duo Cavinella

Duo Cavinella performs works by Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827), Johannes Brahms (1833-1897), and Viktor Kosenko (1896-1938).

Violina Petrychenko (piano) was born in Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine, into a family of musicians and began playing piano at age six. At music gymnasium she studied piano and musicology - earning both diplomas with distinction. At 12 she participated in the International Prokofiev Competition, and at 16 published her first theoretical work. She later studied at Hochschule für Musik "FRANZ LISZT" Weimar and subsequently at Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Cologne under Prof. Jacob Leuschner.

Kateryna Kostiuk (violin) is from Kyiv and began playing violin at age five. After initial studies in Moscow, she transferred in 2014 to Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Cologne; she is completing her master's degree in orchestral performance at Orchesterzentrum Dortmund. She won the international violin competition "Josef Musia" in the Czech Republic and is a laureate of the international violin competition "Remember Enescu" in Romania. Since 2015 she has been concertmaster of the International Young Orchestra Academy in Germany.
