Women and political cabaret - can that even work? Absolutely. Marion Bach and Heike Ronniger have been proving it for 16 years.

In their eleventh joint programme "Neu aufgeregt", the topics are not emancipation or menstruation. When they talk about days, they mean the frustrating kind: the defence minister is calling the younger generation to the barracks, the AfD is demanding patriotic interpretations from the performing arts. Companies are moving production abroad because wages at home are too high - while the domestic market hunts for skilled workers from the most remote corners of the world at rock-bottom pay. Confusion instead of vision.

This keeps both cabaret artists fired up all over again - rebellion rather than resignation. And so, in the end, they simply write the review of their own show themselves.
