Tobias Hengstmann on his high horse? TOBI or not TOBI? Shakespeare? Has Tobias Hengstmann lost the plot? Not at all! He was simply looking for a title for his new show - one that audiences would actually like, and that might convince them to buy a ticket. He has had a remarkable run of bad luck with the titles of his solo programmes so far.

His brother Sebastian Hengstmann has been performing his solo show "Niemand mag Klugscheißer" to great success for four years now. And it was Tobias, not Sebastian, who came up with that title. Unfair? No, those are the facts. And you can't argue with facts - though you can certainly argue with opinions. And with the past. And especially with the future.

Everything happening in this world, in this country, and in this city is what Tobias Hengstmann reflects on in his new programme. Not on horseback, but behind a microphone - sometimes standing freely, occasionally behind a lectern. Because what many people don't know is that for four years Tobias Hengstmann has been delivering the keynote address at the youth celebration organised by the Junge Humanisten at the Johanniskirche in Magdeburg. The central question: what do you say to young people setting out into adulthood?

And what happens when you're giving that speech and you desperately want to go off on tangents, to muse about life - but you can't, because you only have eight minutes? In his new solo show, that speech is finally delivered in full - and given plenty of room to breathe. Everything gets covered and commented on: the depths of human relationships, politics, neighbourhood dynamics, and the state of society. Tobias Hengstmann holds nothing back - after all, in this show the speech is right there in front of him on paper. Everything else will be funny, possibly musical, and definitely topical.
